Short-term counseling

By appointment only - on Thursday evenings from 4pm to 8pm

By contacting the Counselling Co-ordinator you can ask for your name to be placed on a short waiting list. You will then be contacted once a counselling session becomes available.

Sessions last for a maximum of 50 minutes. When you arrive you will be asked to sit in the waiting area until a counsellor is available to see you. Whilst you are waiting, a member of staff will ask you some simple questions (e.g. your name and address & your GP’s name and address) - this information will be treated as confidential.

Sometimes a single session is enough but there is an opportunity to see the same counsellor for up to eight sessions (with a possible extension to twelve sessions).

How much does it cost?
As a charity we do rely, to some extent, on contributions from the people who use our service. Each session costs us about £30 to provide and we do ask for a payment for each session.
We are aware that everyone’s circumstances are different even when you are working, so anything that you can reasonably afford is most welcome.
However, not everyone is working, so as a guideline we suggest a contribution of £3 per session if you are not waged.
Please do not have any concerns over this as it can be discussed with the counsellor and a mutually acceptable agreement will be reached.
A counsellor will still see you even if your circumstances mean that you cannot afford to make any contribution.

If you are interested in short-term counselling, please email Philip or call him on 020 8305 5000 to make an appointment.
